ZooTown Challenge Obstacle Course Race
The ZooTown Challenge takes place at Washington-Grizzly Stadium in Missoula, Montana on September 26, 2026. The event features multiple obstacle course race categories that use the stadium, the University of Montana campus, M Trail, and additional course elements.
Race categories and distances include:
- 10 km Griz Double 10k - complete the course twice
- 5 km Expert category
- 5 km Novice category
- 3 km ZooTown 3k (M Trail not included)
- Kids race for ages 5 to 12
The Griz Double is described as a tougher version that runs the course twice with more difficult obstacles. The 5k course includes 20 obstacles and the Griz Double lists 35 obstacles. The kids race is held inside the stadium and the course is designed by Mismo Gymnastics. An All Abilities category is available for athletes with physical or intellectual limitations; this category uses a specially designed course and racers may be paired with a buddy. A teams category combines the finish times of four racers; teams may assist each other on obstacles.
Spectators are welcome and food trucks will operate in the North End Zone. Volunteers receive food vouchers and free entry to the next year's race. Net proceeds are donated to Opportunity Resources Inc. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
