Light the Way 5K
Runner's Edge presents a nighttime holiday 5k at Fort Missoula Regional Park in Missoula, MT. The event uses paved sidewalks and about a half mile of crushed gravel around the park. The course will be lined with luminaires and in many years is covered in packed snow with patches of pavement; weather conditions may include rain, ice, or snow.
A free Kid's Fun Run of approximately a half mile takes place before the 5k. Packet pickup is available at the Runner's Edge basement and at Bella Vista Pavilion near the soccer complex. The event is limited to 350 participants. Registration details are to be announced. There are no refunds or deferrals; bib transfers are permitted before December 1.
Postcourse offerings include cookies, candy canes, and cocoa at the finish, chip timing, and a custom race bib. Participants can meet Santa and Mrs. Claus and an Ugly Sweater Contest is held at the start area prior to the race. Organizers strongly encourage use of headlamps or flashlights and the use of traction devices on running shoes for winter footing. Volunteer roles are available for packet pickup, course marshaling, and post race food distribution, with volunteers receiving a Runner's Edge gift card and post race food and drink.
