Zoo Knoxville Red Panda Run 5K
The Red Panda Run 5K is a 3.1 mile race that begins and ends inside Zoo Knoxville and proceeds through zoo habitats and neighboring Chilhowee Park. The course passes tigers, gibbons, rhinos, great apes, and the Timber Loop Boardwalk. Two on-course water stations are available and the route includes uphill, downhill, gravel, asphalt, and concrete surfaces.
Participants receive a commemorative Red Panda Run T shirt, an official race bib, zoo admission on race day, discounted zoo admission for spectators, and post race refreshments at Sugarland’s BARn. Age group winners receive Red Panda swag. The overall winner and their family will have a meet and greet with a resident red panda on race day.
Packet pick up is scheduled for Friday May 29 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Zoo Knoxville. Registration fees vary by period and range from $40 to $60, with higher fees for late and day of registration. Spectators remain in the main plaza during the race with clear views of the starting line, the Mile 2 marker, and the finish line. General spectator admission is listed at $20 and member spectator admission at $10; children under 3 are free.
Walkers with strollers are welcome and will start in the last coral. Pets are not allowed on zoo property and all service animals must be registered at the Zoo Ranger Station. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
