The Haughley Festival of Running returns for its fifth year at Haughley Park, Suffolk (parking postcode IP30 9RS). The venue is used as a lap-based trail course with exclusive use of the main area and open space.
The standard lap measures 5.3 km on an all trail loop through parkland and woodland, described as gently rolling with about 29 m of climb per lap and elevation ranging from 69 m to 83 m. One lap equals the 5k distance and laps stack for longer distances. A GPX file for the course is available from the course tab.
Distances offered:
- 5k
- 10k
- Half Marathon
- Full Marathon
- Ultra Marathon
A heavy half marathon is set as 5 laps by default, with the option to increase to 6 or 7 laps on the day. The ultra is set as 9 laps by default, with the option to extend the number of laps up to around 12 depending on time available. There is a six hour event cut off and a shorter cut off for later starts.
Logistics noted in the event information include on site secure parking with a parking attendant, an aid station at the lap point, bespoke finisher medals or a lucky dip medal option, and a cupless policy so cups and bottles are not provided. Events close 48 hours before the event day. A virtual entry option is available via the organiser's shop. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
