3rd Annual Zeta Rho Lambda Juneteenth 5K Run/Walk
The Zeta Rho Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. hosts this community event in Dover, Delaware. The event focuses on promoting health and wellness while generating support for national fraternity projects. The race takes place at 303 Transportation Circle and proceeds regardless of rain or shine.
Participants can choose from the following event categories:
- 5K Run
- Fun Run/Walk (non-competitive)
- Virtual 5K (remote participation)
The competitive 5K Run includes awards for the top three male and female overall finishers. Recognition is also provided for the top three male and female participants across various age groups, ranging from 13 and under to 80 and older. A specific "Hero" award is available for the first finisher in divisions representing police, firefighters, educators, military, and medical or mental health workers. Additionally, local fraternities and sororities can participate in the Divine 9 Challenge by entering five-person teams.
Registered participants receive a participation medal, and event T-shirts are guaranteed for those who register by May 30, 2026. Following the conclusion of the event, hotdogs and hamburgers are served to individuals who have registered. The proceeds support initiatives such as Go-to-High-School, Go-to-College, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Project Alpha, and the Boy Scouts of America.
