Capital Area Run/Walk
The ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk Capital Area is a community event focused on raising funds and awareness for prostate cancer patients and their families. Hosted at The Fields at RFK in Washington, DC, the event brings together survivors, patients, caregivers, and community members. The proceeds support various initiatives, including national research for new treatments, free testing, and emotional and financial support programs for those affected by the disease.
The event offers several participation options for runners and walkers:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1 Mile Walk
- Kids Dash
Beyond the main courses, the event features specific recognition for survivors and caregivers, as well as several kid-friendly activities to encourage family participation. Registration is open to individuals and teams, with no minimum fundraising requirement to participate. Participants who reach specific fundraising milestones are eligible for rewards, such as event t-shirts.
For those unable to attend the physical gathering in Washington, DC, a virtual participation option is available. Virtual participants can use the RunGo App to join the community from any location. This app provides features such as a real-time leaderboard, timing, and a downloadable event playlist.
