About the race
The Young Life Shawnee State Park 5K is a 5K (3.1 miles) running race on October 24, 2026, at Shawnee State Park near Schellsburg, Pennsylvania. The course passes through rolling hills, wooded areas, and lakeside scenery and finishes near the beach area.
Participants meet at Pavilion 002 by the main parking lot boat launch at the beach. Registration opens September 2, 2026 and closes October 23, 2026. The entry fee is $35. Participants registered by October 14 are eligible for a free t-shirt; same day registration is available without a t-shirt guarantee.
The event is described as family friendly and welcomes both running and walking participants. Race awards and finisher recognition are part of the event, and a post-race celebration is planned for participants and supporters. Proceeds support Young Life, a nonprofit organization that works with local teenagers to introduce them to a sense of purpose and to share hope in Jesus.
