About the race
The Young Life Shawnee State Park 5K takes place on October 24, 2026 at Shawnee State Park in Schellsburg, Pennsylvania. The event is a community race that benefits Young Life, a nonprofit organization that works with local teenagers to introduce them to a sense of purpose and hope in Jesus.
The course covers 5K (3.1 miles) through park terrain featuring rolling hills, wooded sections, and lake-area scenery. The event is described as family-friendly and welcomes both running and walking participants. Race awards and finisher recognition are part of the event, and a post-race celebration is planned for participants and supporters.
The meeting location for the event is Pavilion 002 by the main parking lot boat launch at the beach. Participants who register by October 14 receive a free t-shirt with registration; same-day registration is available but does not guarantee a t-shirt. Proceeds from the event support Young Life leaders and their work with local youth.
The description focuses on course setting, beneficiary information, participant amenities, and logistics related to registration and the meeting point at Shawnee State Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
