Greater Purpose
The Greater Purpose is a community sports event held at the Friendship Village Campground in Bedford, Pennsylvania. The course allows participants to view the natural scenery and facilities of the campground as they progress through the route. The event is organized in memory of Brenda Neff and serves as a benefit for church missions.
Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- 5K Run
- 1 Mile Walk
- Kids Fun Run
The 5K Run is a timed event with awards presented to the top three male and female finishers in various age categories, ranging from 12 and under to 65 and up. All registered participants receive a race bag containing a reusable water bottle, and children in the Kids Fun Run receive a treat at the conclusion of their event.
Facilities at the venue include restrooms located near the main office and a designated parking area with directional signage. Snacks and beverages are provided for participants at the barn following the event. Race materials, including bibs and swag, are available for collection at the Friendship Village barn on the morning of the event. Registration must be completed at least 24 hours in advance, as there is no registration available on the day of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
