Run and Walk on the Great Allegheny Passage
The Yough Band on the Run 5k is a sports event held in West Newton, Pennsylvania. The course is situated on the Great Allegheny Passage Trail, specifically using the West Newton Trailhead. Participants follow a flat, out and back route along the trail.
The event offers two main participation options:
- 5k run
- 5k Walk
The top three male and female finishers in the running category receive plaques for their performance. Additionally, age group awards are presented to the top male and female finishers in several categories: 18 and Under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over. These age group winners are awarded a medal.
For those participating in the walking category, medals are provided to the top three walkers. All participants also have the opportunity to receive a memento of the event, as the first 100 finishers across the line are given an engraved wood keychain.
