Yough Band on the Run 5k
The event takes place at the West Newton trailhead of the Great Allegheny Passage Trail. It features a flat out and back course that starts and finishes at 108 W. Main St, West Newton, PA 15089.
The program includes these event distances:
- 5k run
- 5k walk
Awards are given for overall and age group performance. Plaques are provided for the top three finishers in the men and women divisions. Age group recognition includes a medal for the top finisher in each category: 18 & Under, 19 - 29, 30 - 39, 40 - 49, 50 - 59, and 60+. Medals are also awarded to the top three walkers. The first 75 finishers receive an official race button made by students at The Maryland School for the Blind.
Parking is available near the start and finish. Approximately 50 parking spots are at the start/finish location. Additional parking is available across W Main Street at West Newton Station, and across the Youghiogheny River on East Main Street and in municipal lots on South Water Street and South Second Street.
