You Matter Juneteenth Freedom 5K
The You Matter Juneteenth Freedom 5K takes place on June 19, 2026 at Fort Hunt Park, Pavilion B, 8999 Fort Hunt Road, Alexandria, VA. The event brings together in-person and virtual race options plus community activities and post-race programming.

- 5K - 3.1 Miles (in person)
- VIRTUAL 5K - 3.1 Miles (virtual)
- Freedom Lap - 0.9 Miles (one loop around Fort Hunt Park)
The virtual 5K can be completed anytime and anywhere during the month of June. Virtual registration includes shipping and handling for race swag; registrants receive shipping confirmation in early June and items should arrive prior to June 19 but arrival is not guaranteed.
The Freedom Lap is a single loop around Fort Hunt Park designed for walkers, runners, and supporters. Registration for the Freedom Lap includes an official race shirt and race swag if registered by May 15; shirts are not guaranteed after that date. The Freedom Lap does not include a finisher medal.
Post-race activities include food, music with a DJ, community-focused festivities, and an awards ceremony. A free live game show experience at Pavilion D follows the awards with two rounds of play, trivia, audience participation, prizes, selected contestants receiving a free deck of the PO' UP! Card Game, and a complimentary specialty drink for guests 21+ while supplies last. A portion of proceeds supports a scholarship fund for DMV area graduating seniors.
