About the race
Turpin Challenge 2025 is a relaxed, six-hour lap-running event held on Saturday 13 September 2025 at York’s Knavesmire. Participants set their own target, completing as many 4.37-mile laps as they wish within the time limit. The undulating, multi-terrain course (grass and path) is closed to traffic.
Runners can do as few as one lap or push toward a full marathon by stacking laps. The event features a cupless policy with a well-stocked aid station at each lap, offering drinks, sweets, snacks and fruit. All entrants receive a bespoke medal (new design for 2025) and a chocolate goody bag, in a friendly, sociable atmosphere on the Knavesmire.
