Arla Protein York 10K
The Arla Protein York 10K is a city road race that began in 2009 and has grown into a well-attended 10K in Yorkshire. The route starts and finishes on Knavesmire Road near York Racecourse and passes historic city landmarks including the ancient city walls, Clifford's Tower and the minster. The course is described as flat and fast.
Entry is open to participants aged 15 or over on event day. The event uses chip timing and all finishers receive an exclusive medal and a goody bag. Entrants may pre-order a finisher t-shirt and can choose to have their medal engraved via an optional memento service.
Event facilities include an Event Village with food and drink vendors and charity stands, a designated Baggage Store with a tear-off strip system, and multiple toilet facilities around the stadium. Water stations on course provide 330 ml bottles and recycling bins are available at each station. Pacers carrying flags with target finish times are present on course. Medical provision includes fixed first aid stations near water points, a first aid unit and recovery area close to the start and finish, and roaming first aiders.
Additional services include official event photography by MarathonPhotos, a Park and Ride service at Askham Bar, alternative parking at York Racecourse Car Park, JogOn shoe drop-off points, and training plans offered in partnership with Coopah.
