Arla Protein York 10K
The Arla Protein 10K takes place in York, with the route starting and finishing on Knavesmire Road near York Racecourse. Since its launch in 2009 the event has grown into a well-established city 10K and has been described as one of the country’s most beautiful city runs. The course passes historic city landmarks, including the city walls, Clifford’s Tower and York Minster. Organisers describe the route as flat and fast and suitable for runners chasing personal bests. Entrants must be 15 years or over on event day. The title sponsor is Arla Protein.
On-the-day information
Included with entry are chip timing, a finisher’s goody bag and an exclusive medal, plus an option to pre-order a finisher t-shirt. An Event Village near the finish will offer food and drink vendors and host partner charities. Baggage can be checked into a designated Baggage Store using the tear-off strip from the race number; bags should be collected after the race. Water stations will provide 330 ml bottles and have recycling bins. Pacers, carrying flags with target finish times, will be on course. Toilets are located around the stadium; organisers operate a zero-tolerance policy for urinating outside facilities. First aid stations will be positioned near water stations and a medical unit and recovery area will be near the start/finish. Race photos will be available for purchase and results will be published on the event website. Park & Ride at Askham Bar and York Racecourse Car Park are listed travel options; the start and Event Village are a 30-minute walk from the city centre and about 20 minutes from York Railway Station.
