YMCA Rudolph Run 8K
The Rudolph Run 8K is an 8 kilometer run and walk hosted by the YMCA of Tuscaloosa at 2300 13th Street, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401. The event is open to children and adults and welcomes runners, walkers, families, and friends. Participants are invited to wear holiday attire such as Santa hats, ugly Christmas sweaters, or reindeer antlers.
The course passes through downtown Tuscaloosa and the Tuscaloosa River Walk and is described as having a festive atmosphere with community support and holiday music. The event combines a recreational running option with a community holiday gathering.
Race services include supervised activities for children while parents are on the course. Awards for the 8K recognize overall finishing places and age group placements. Awards are given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall male and female finishers and for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd male and female finishers in these age categories: Under 9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and over.
