Bark to the Beat Music 5k

Bark to the Beat Music 5k is a community run/walk held on March 13, 2027 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The event is the third annual edition and launches from Butler Field across from the School of Music on the University of Alabama campus, following a route through nearby city blocks.

Live music is provided along the course by performers from the University of Alabama School of Music and surrounding high schools. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter, which will be present with animals during the event.

The 5k is hosted by the University of Alabama School of Music in collaboration with the University of Alabama chapter of the American Choral Directors Association. The event is open to participants of all ages; participants under 19 must be accompanied by a legal guardian unless they are currently enrolled students at the University of Alabama.

Registration information includes an opening date of November 14, 2026 and a closing date of February 2, 2027, with a listed fee of $30. A lower early registration fee was available through a February deadline. Registrations the week of the race and late registration are accepted only while race bib supplies last. Registration packages include race participation, a bib, a medal, and a t-shirt for those who registered early; additional swag was offered to early packet pick-up participants.
