YMCA Race Weekend at Green Lakes State Park
The YMCA Race Weekend takes place June 13–14, 2026 at Green Lakes State Park in Fayetteville, NY. The event runs across two days and includes multiple multisport and running events, a kids fun run on the park beach, and an option to race both days with an 8K add-on. The weekend is organized with volunteer support and raises funds for the YMCA of Central New York’s charitable programs.
Event formats and competitive distances include:
- Sprint Triathlon / Relay: 800 yard swim, 12 mile bike, 3 mile run
- Duathlon: 2 mile run, 12 mile bike, 3 mile run
- Aquabike: 800 yard swim, 12 mile bike
- Aqua Run: 1/2 mile swim, 3 mile run
- 8K Trail Race and Y-Challenge 8K add-on
- Kids Fun Run on the beach
The 8K Trail Race course crosses trails, gravel, and grass through old growth forest and meadows, and runs around two blue-green lakes. Course sections vary from non-technical groomed trails to single-track technical trails and include inclines. The event operates as a benefit race; proceeds support programs such as Safety Around Water, Power Scholars Academy, and the Cancer Survivors Program.
