Event overview
The YMCA Race Weekend takes place June 13-14, 2026 at Green Lakes State Park in Fayetteville, New York. The event is organized by the YMCA of Central New York and is run largely by volunteers. Proceeds support the Y's financial assistance and community programs, including Safety Around Water, Power Scholars Academy, and the Cancer Survivors Program. There is no rain date; the Race Director may cancel, alter, or modify events for safety reasons. Race entry fees are non-refundable and funds are used to produce the event and support YMCA charitable work. A Kids Fun Run is held on the park beach.
Race formats and course details
Saturday events include triathlon, duathlon, relay, aquabike, and aqua run. Sunday features an 8K trail race. Distances listed by the organizer:
- Sprint Triathlon: 800-yard swim, 12-mile bike, 3-mile run
- Duathlon: 2-mile run, 12-mile bike, 3-mile run
- Aquabike: 800-yard swim, 12-mile bike
- Aqua Run: 1/2-mile swim, 3-mile run
- 8K Trail Race: 8 kilometers
The 8K course uses trails, gravel, and grass, and passes through old growth forests and meadows around two blue-green lakes. Trail surfaces range from non-technical groomed paths to single-track technical sections with inclines. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
