YMCA Freaky 5K & Mini Monster Dash
The YMCA Freaky 5K & Mini Monster Dash takes place on October 31, 2026, at Pierce Park in Appleton, Wisconsin along the shores of the Fox River. The event includes in-person and virtual options and is organized as a community running event for a range of ages.
Distances and event formats:
- 5K Adult and 5K Youth - 3.1 Miles
- Mini Monster Dash 1/2 mile - 0.5 Miles
- 5K Virtual option - 3.1 Miles
All participants receive a Freaky 5K T-shirt if registered before October 13, a custom finishers medal, chip timing, and refreshments. Packet pickup is scheduled at the Appleton YMCA on Friday, October 24 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm, and at Pierce Park on Saturday, October 25 from 6:30 to 8:30 am.
A costume contest follows the 5K run and will present awards in Adult, Group, and Child categories. Competitive awards include top three overall male and female finishers and winners in the listed age groups: 9 and under, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus.
Registration opens March 6, 2026. In-person race registration closes August 6, 2026, and the virtual 5K registration closes October 19, 2026. Entry fees vary by category and format. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
