YMCA 5K Run/Walk in memory
This event is a 5K run and walk hosted by the Huntington YMCA, held in early May at the Huntington YMCA facility on Main Street in Huntington, New York. Registration is not yet open for the next edition; previous editions and results are referenced on the event pages.
The event includes post race awards, prizes, refreshments and sponsor giveaways. Event shirts are distributed on a first come first serve basis. Awards recognize overall top finishers, age group top three finishers and several team categories. Age group awards cover a wide range of brackets including 15 & under, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79 and 80+. Team honors include fastest cumulative team and awards for largest teams, team theme and spirit, and youth group participation.
Proceeds from the event help send children in need to YMCA summer day camp. Bib pickup is available before the race at the event pavilion and on event day at the Huntington YMCA. Virtual entries have bibs shipped with a shipping window that ranges from one week before the event to one week after the event. Live results and same day finish line photos are provided online.
