Yippee-Ki-Yay Races : Council Bluffs, Iowa (October 24, 2026)
The Yippee-Ki-Yay Races on October 24, 2026 take place at the Iowa West Foundation Trail Head Park in Council Bluffs and use the Historic Wabash Trace Nature Trail for all courses. The trail is a converted rails-to-trails route with a fine crushed limestone surface and out-and-back layouts for each distance.

The event has a total field limit of 200 runners, allocated as 50 spots for the 50K, 100 for the Half Marathon, and 50 for the 10K. Registration closes October 5. Packet pickup is scheduled for October 22 and October 23, with one pickup location at Dick's Sporting Goods, 3816 Metro Dr, Council Bluffs; there is no race day packet pickup. A portion of each entry fee will be donated to the Wabash Trace Nature Trail.
Race services and rules are provided in advance via an athlete guide. Each race is chip-timed and the event enforces a 9 hour course time limit. Aid stations supply water, a branded sports drink, gels, and longer-course nutrition after about 10 miles for 50K runners. There is a drop-down option for registered 50K runners to switch to the Half Marathon; drop-down finishers are not eligible for awards. Entries are non-refundable and non-transferable. Prohibited on race day are pets, baby joggers or strollers, roller skates, roller blades, skateboards, and motorized vehicles.
Participants receive a finisher medal and a long sleeve race lightweight hoodie; the first 50 registered runners receive a water bottle and a special nutrition bundle valued at $25. T-shirt and hoodie orders close October 1. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
