YIJE 5K Run/Walk (L'Chaim)
The YIJE L'Chaim event is organized by Young Israel of Jamaica Estates and takes place in Jamaica Estates, Queens, New York. The program includes a 5K run/walk and separate kids races.
Registration is listed as not yet open. Bib pickup is offered in advance on an early pickup evening and on race day; registering at least three weeks before the event qualifies a participant for a personalized race number.
Amenities reported for participants include T-shirts, an ice cream festival, musical entertainment, bottled water, fruit, and sponsor giveaways. Youth runners receive medals at the finish and trophies are awarded to top finishers.
Awards follow a structured age group format. Trophies are given to the top three male and female overall finishers. Age group trophies are specified for many categories, with single trophies for some younger divisions and top-three trophies for older youth and adult divisions. Medals are given to all 5K youth registrants in the 5 to 10 age range at the finish line.
