YIJE 5K Run/Walk (L'Chaim)
The YIJE 5K Run/Walk (L'Chaim) is a community road event organized by Young Israel of Jamaica Estates in Jamaica Estates, Queens, NY. The event centers on a 5K run/walk with accompanying kids races, held near 189th Street and Radnor Road adjacent to PS 178.
Registration was not yet open at the time of the listing; registration is scheduled to open before the event. Participants who register at least three weeks in advance are eligible for a personalized race number.
Event amenities include T-shirts for registered participants, an ice cream festival, musical entertainment, bottled water, fresh fruit, and sponsor giveaways. Youth runners receive medals at the finish line. Awards include trophies for the top three male and female overall finishers and trophies across multiple male and female age groups, with categories beginning at ages 5-6 and extending through 80 and over.
Bib pickup options are provided, including an early pickup window on a Sunday evening and race day pickup on the morning of the event. Results and photos are made available online, with live online and text or email result services, same-day finish line pictures, and additional event photos posted to social media.
