About the race
The Yeti Chase 5K & 10K is a winter road and bike-path race held on January 24, 2027 at Bear Creek Lake Park near Morrison and Lakewood, Colorado. The event marks its 17th year and is the second race in a three-race Winter Running Series.
Distances offered:
- 5K : mostly flat with some gentle ups and downs on park roads and a bit of bike path, finishing at Big Soda Lake Marina.
- 10K : a rolling route that includes a scenic mix of road and bike path, with a few rolling hills and a finish under the arch at Big Soda Lake Marina.
The start and finish are located in the Bear Creek Marina parking lot. Participant parking is nearby but limited; the event is limited to the first 750 entrants. Entry includes park admission, a gender specific adult shirt with youth sizes available, free race photos, hot chocolate, and a slice of banana chocolate chip bread. Free photo downloads are provided and results and photos are posted after the race.
Awards: top-3 overall male and female determined by gun time; age group awards determined by net time. Age group structure and a non-binary award category are used for both distances. The organizer may alter, shorten, or cancel the course for extreme weather or public health reasons. A credit policy applies for cancellations and transfers.
