Yellowstone Trail Race
The Yellowstone Trail Race takes place at the Rendezvous Ski Trails in West Yellowstone, Montana. The event is held on the trails of the Custer Gallatin National Forest, located just outside the West entrance of Yellowstone National Park. This geographic area is characterized by its proximity to three national forests, mountain lakes, and trout streams.
The competition is held under a special use authorization from the Custer Gallatin National Forest. Due to the nature of the terrain and the local environment, the Forest Service recommends that each participant carries bear spray during the event.
The race offers three distinct distances for participants:
- 26.2 Miles (Full Marathon)
- 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon)
- 10K trail run
The course provides scenery associated with the world's first National Park and the surrounding mountain landscape. Registration for the different distances requires a fee, which varies depending on the chosen length of the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
