Event information
The Yellow Jacket Challenge takes place on Sunday, April 26, 2026, in Greenville, Michigan (111 North Hillcrest). The event offers the following distances:
- 5k Run/Walk
- 1 Mile Walk
The 5k course is USATF certified and is endorsed by the Governor's Council for Physical Fitness through the Michigan Fitness Foundation. The route begins near the entrance of Legacy Field at Greenville High School, follows the Fred Meijer Flat River Trail, returns through nearby neighborhoods and the campus of Montcalm Community College, and finishes through the tunnel onto Legacy Field across the south 30 yard line. The 1 mile walk is non-competitive and untimed.

Proceeds benefit the Education Foundation of Greenville to support health and wellness initiatives at Greenville Public Schools, including mental health support. Awards for the 5k include trophies for Overall Male, Overall Female, Masters Male, and Masters Female, and medals for the top three finishers in each age group (male and female) from 9 and under up to 80+. Shirts are guaranteed with entry through April 17 and are available while sizes last afterward; adult and youth sizes are offered. Entry fees vary by date: 5k fees increase after April 17, and 1 mile walk fees increase after April 25. No dogs, bicycles, scooters, or rollerblades are permitted; strollers are welcome and should start at the back.
