Event details
The Yellow Jacket Challenge takes place on Sunday, April 26, 2026, in Greenville, MI (111 North Hillcrest). The event offers a 5K run/walk and a 1 mile walk. The 5K course is USATF certified and is endorsed by the Governor's Council for Physical Fitness through the Michigan Fitness Foundation. The course starts near the entrance of Legacy Field at Greenville High School, follows the Fred Meijer Flat River Trail, returns through nearby neighborhoods and the Montcalm Community College campus, and finishes through the tunnel onto Legacy Field across the south 30 yard line. Proceeds benefit the Education Foundation of Greenville to support health and wellness initiatives at Greenville Public Schools, including mental health support.

Registration, awards and rules
Registration opens December 1, 2025. Shirt guarantee requires entry through April 17; shirts available as sizes last after that date. Entry fees listed by date: 5K $25 until April 17, $30 April 18-25, $35 race day; 1 Mile $20 until April 25, $25 race day. Packet pick up is available on race day. The 5K is professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation and results will be posted live and on the race website.
Awards: trophies for 5K Overall Male, Overall Female, Masters Male, Masters Female; 5K medals to top 3 in each male/female age group (9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+). Safety rules: no dogs, bicycles, scooters, or rollerblades; strollers are welcome and should start at the back. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
