Yellow Jacket Challenge

The Yellow Jacket Challenge takes place in Greenville, MI on Sunday, April 26, 2026. The event offers two course options:

  • 5K Run/Walk
  • 1 Mile Walk (non-competitive and untimed)

The 5K course is USATF certified and endorsed by the Governor's Council for Physical Fitness through the Michigan Fitness Foundation. The route begins near the entrance of Legacy Field at Greenville High School, follows the Fred Meijer Flat River Trail, returns through nearby neighborhoods and the Montcalm Community College campus, and finishes through the tunnel onto Legacy Field across the south 30 yard line of the high school football field.

Proceeds benefit the Education Foundation of Greenville to support health and wellness initiatives at Greenville Public Schools, including mental health support. The race is professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation and results will be available live and online.

Awards include trophies for 5K overall male, overall female, masters male, and masters female. Medals are awarded to the top three finishers in each listed age group for male and female categories, from 9 and under through 80 plus. Shirts are guaranteed with entry through April 17 and available as sizes last after that date.

Safety rules note that dogs, bicycles, scooters, and rollerblades are not permitted. Strollers are welcome and should start at the back of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
