Yak-A-Du Kayak Duathlon - Long Beach, MS
The Yak-A-Du Kayak Duathlon is a solo event held at Wolf River Canoes, 21652 Tucker Road, Long Beach, MS. Competitors complete three sequential legs: a run out and back on Tucker Road, a paddle on the Wolf River, and the same run again.
The event legs are:
- 2 mile run on Tucker Road, out and back
- 2 mile kayak on the Wolf River, one mile south and back
- 2 mile run repeat of the Tucker Road out and back
This event is for individuals only; no teams or relays are permitted. Entry fees are listed as $20 for pre registration and $25 on race day. T shirts are provided to participants and volunteers; remaining funds support refreshments and awards. Registration is available online, by mail, or in person on race day.
Kayaks and canoes may be rented for an additional cost; bringing a personal kayak or canoe avoids the rental fee. Double bladed paddles are allowed with any kayak or canoe.
Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, top masters, grandmasters and seniors, and the top two competitors in five year age groups. Additional awards may be distributed depending on participant numbers and award availability. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
