XTERRA Appalachian Trail Fest is scheduled for November 7-8, 2025, with the main festival and race day on November 8 in Pelham, Alabama at Oak Mountain State Park. The event includes check-in and pre-race social activities the day before. All participants must pay park admission on entry - adults $5, children 12 and younger $2. Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable; the organizer may cancel or postpone the event in extreme circumstances and will offer a rescheduled date in that case.
Races and festival features
The event offers multiple trail options:
- 35K - Trail marathon (Full distance)
- 18K - Trail half marathon (Half distance)
- Youth 5K
- Family Hike 5K
The 35K and 18K courses are listed as XTERRA World Championship qualifiers. Course terrain includes fast, flowing singletrack, backcountry sections at Oak Mountain State Park, scrambling, and access to Peavine Falls and other park features. The event is described as a cupless race; reusable race cups will be provided for participants. On-site festival activities include live bluegrass music, local Appalachian arts and crafts, traditional bread making and butter churning, an awards ceremony, and an after party.
