XRedRocksRun
XRedRocksRun is a four-day adaptive trail stage race held in Monroe, Utah from September 30 to October 3, 2026. The race runs alongside the XRedRocks hike-and-fly competition and is hosted by TROT. Daily runner-specific tasks use the same mountain and high desert landscape, waypoint navigation, and stage format as the hike-and-fly event.
This is not a traditional marked-course race. Routes are provided by GPX and may include trail, road, and mountain or desert terrain. Participants must be comfortable traveling on existing trails and routes without event flagging. Runners are expected to carry required mandatory gear, remain mostly self sufficient during each stage, and be prepared for changing weather and remote terrain.
Safety and communication requirements include carrying at least one reliable method of remote communication, a backup battery, and sharing live location with race staff during each stage. All runners must follow the official route, check in as directed, respect cutoffs, and inform staff if they stop, leave the course, or need assistance.
Scoring counts each runner’s best three days. Runners who reach a daily goal are ranked by time; those who do not are ranked by official progress along the course.
There is a Saturday only entry option and participation fees differ by entry type. Altra Running will be present with footwear demos, giveaways, prizes, and shoe testing opportunities.
