Wymondham AC 20 mile race
The event is a 20 mile road race run over two laps on quiet rural roads around Wymondham and nearby villages. The course starts at the Market Cross in the town centre and finishes on Lady's Lane. There are four water stations on the route; each is passed twice because of the lapped course. Marshals are positioned along the route to provide direction and safety information.
Race headquarters are at Wymondham & District Ex Service's Social Club, 9 Friarscroft Ln, Wymondham NR18 0AT. Number collection is available at Race HQ on race day where race numbers with timing chips are issued. Runners are asked to bring their own safety pins. There is no bag drop and organisers take no responsibility for belongings left at Race HQ or in vehicles.
The event operates under UKA rules. Pacing is not permitted and anyone judged to be pacing or being paced will be disqualified. Headphones of any kind are not permitted because the route uses open roads. Running with buggies or dogs is not permitted.
Facilities include an attractive finishers' medal, water and a snack at the finish, limited portable toilets at Race HQ and additional toilets at the Market Cross. Refreshments are available at Race HQ in return for a donation to East Anglian Air Ambulance. Entry is priced at £28 affiliated or £30 unaffiliated, with £1 from each entry donated to the nominated charity. Entries are non refundable and cannot be deferred; transfers to another participant are permitted until 05/03/2027. Race licence number 32048.
