Event overview

The Wye King Challenge 10k & Half Marathon is organised by Sporting Events UK and takes place on 26 July 2026. The event is based at Wye Village Hall & Recreaton Ground, Bridge Street, Wye, TN25 5EA. Runners can choose between the following distances:

  • 10k - multi-terrain route on lanes and paths
  • Half marathon - multi-terrain route on lanes and paths

The course runs across a valley and along country lanes and paths. Runners will pass a chalk crown carved into the hillside, which gives the event its name and dates from 1902. The event returns in 2026 with a new event headquarters.

Practical details

Facilities at the venue include toilets, refreshments and a mini-event village. Entry fees listed by the organiser are:

  • 10k advanced entries: £24 (affiliated), £26 (unaffiliated); on-the-day: £30 (subject to space)
  • Half marathon advanced entries: £32 (affiliated), £34 (unaffiliated); on-the-day: £40 (subject to space)
