Event Overview
The Wye King Challenge offers a choice of multi-terrain running distances: a 10k and a Half Marathon. The 2026 edition will have a new Event HQ. The event is based in Wye, located roughly halfway between Canterbury and Ashford.
Route & Setting
The routes use country lanes and paths, offering views across the valley. A notable feature on the course is a chalk crown carved into the hillside, created for King Edward VII's coronation in 1902, which gives the event its name.
Event Facilities
The venue provides toilets and refreshments. After the run, participants can stay for food and drink at a mini-event village.
Participation & Fees
The minimum age for both distances is 17 years on the day of the event, as per UK Athletics rules. Advanced entry fees are listed below, with on-the-day entry available subject to space for a higher fee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
- 10k: £24 for affiliated club members, £26 unaffiliated.
- Half Marathon: £32 for affiliated club members, £34 unaffiliated.
