WWY 5K - No One Walks Alone
The WWY 5K is a fundraiser hosted by Walk With You to support families who have experienced the death of a child up to age 18. The event takes place on September 19, 2026, at the back loop of Water Works Park in Des Moines and is offered both in person and virtually.
The main event is a 5K Walk/Run. There is also a separate kids event and a range of on-site activities, including coffee, food trucks, and face painting. Personalized yard signs honoring children can be displayed along the 5K route and are available to take home; signs cannot be mailed.

A $30 registration fee applies per person. Proceeds fund comprehensive grief support services for families experiencing child loss. The 2025 event raised over $36,000 and hosted 700 participants, with turnout more than double the previous year.
Children are welcome and a kids run and activities are provided. Pets are not allowed. All attendees must register individually. Sponsorship opportunities are available at multiple levels, with benefits such as logo placement on event shirts and signage, recognition in event communications, and options to include items in race swag.
