WWY 5K - No One Walks Alone
The WWY 5K is an annual fundraiser hosted by Walk With You to support families who have experienced the death of a child up to age 18. The event in 2026 takes place on September 19 at the Back Loop of Water Works Park in Des Moines, Iowa. It is offered both in person and as a virtual option.
The event program includes a main 5K Walk/Run and a separate half-mile kids run, plus morning amenities such as coffee, food trucks, and face painting. Personalized signs honoring children are displayed along the 5K route and may be taken home after the event; signs cannot be mailed. Children may attend and special activities are planned for them. Pets are not permitted.
Registration is required for each attendee and the listed registration fee is $30 per person. All proceeds go to Walk With You’s grief support services for families affected by child loss. Volunteers and sponsors take part; sponsorship packages are available at multiple levels with recognition and other benefits for sponsors.
