Candy Cane Course - Des Moines
The Candy Cane Course takes place on 12/20/2026 at Altoona Aquatics Park in Altoona, Iowa. The event includes multiple in-person race distances, a virtual race option, and a combined volunteer then run entry that lets participants help at the event and then run a chosen distance.
Distances and event formats:
- 50 m Kids Dash (ages 10 and under)
- 1 Mile untimed
- 5K (3.1 Miles)
- 10K (6.2 Miles)
- 15K (9.3 Miles)
- Virtual Race run anywhere
- Volunteer then Run volunteer then run any distance
Race entries include event swag and finish items. The 5K, 10K, and 15K registrations include a custom bib, designer shirt, and a finisher medal. The 1 Mile is untimed and includes a custom bib, designer shirt, and finisher medal. The Kids Dash includes a mini bib, youth-sized shirt, and a specifically crafted kids medal. Virtual participants are eligible to receive the event swag.
Additional event features listed by the organizer include chip timing with live results and awards for timed events, free photos, and treats at the finish line.
