Events

The event includes two distances:

5K run.
Pine K (1K Walk/Run). This shorter race is primarily for children and walkers.

Both races start together before their routes split.

Course & Setting

The event takes place on Saturday, December 19, 2026, at the Walnut Ridge Tree Farm in Indianola, Iowa. The course winds through the farm's pine tree acreage, featuring glimmering lights. The 5K continues to the northern pine groves, while the 1K splits off to a western pine grove shortly after the start.

Additional Event Details

A post-race gathering is held in a barn at the venue, with coffee, cocoa, and cookies provided. Santa is available for photos before and after the races. All participants receive a race-branded stocking cap (5K) or ear warmer (1K) and a handmade Christmas ornament. Race merchandise and finisher ornaments are only guaranteed for registrations before December 1.

Packet pickup is available on Friday before the event at Fitness Sports in Clive, Iowa, and on Saturday at Walnut Ridge Farm. Select Physical Therapy will be on-site to provide pre- and post-race therapy and stretching.
