Event Details
The Festive Pines 5K takes place on Saturday, December 19, 2026. It is located at 1400 Hillcrest Ave in Indianola, Iowa, on the grounds of Walnut Ridge Tree Farm.

- 5K
- Pine K (1K Walk/Run)
Course Information
The 5K route winds through the pine tree acreage of Walnut Ridge Tree Farm, passing glimmering lights. The 1K route is shorter and splits off from the 5K course early, turning left around a pine tree field while the 5K continues straight toward the northern pine groves. Both events begin together in two waves.
Participant Information
The 1K is geared towards children and walkers. All participants receive a race-branded stocking cap (for the 5K) or an ear warmer (for the 1K), plus a handmade Christmas ornament. Shirts and finisher ornaments are guaranteed for registrations by December 1st.
Packet pickup is available on Friday before the race at Fitness Sports in Clive, and on Saturday at Walnut Ridge Farm.
Post-Race Activities
A post-race event is held in a barn, featuring indoor photo opportunities, coffee, cocoa, and cookies. Santa is present for photos. Select Physical Therapy provides on-site pre- and post-race therapy and stretching.
Charity
A portion of the race proceeds and donations go to Helping Hand in Indianola, which provides food, clothing, and other essential resources. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
