Event overview

The Festive Pines 5K is scheduled for Saturday, December 20, 2025, in Indianola, Iowa. The event includes a 5-kilometer course that winds through the pine tree acreage of Walnut Ridge Tree Farm and passes seasonal glimmering lights. A shorter Pine K is offered as a 1-kilometer walk/run. Both races start together; Pine K participants split off and turn left around a pine tree field while 5K participants continue on the longer route. Spectators may attend and refreshments such as hot cocoa will be available.

Entry fees listed on the event page are $40 for the 5K and $20 for the Pine K. The 5K price increases after December 5, 2025. Registration for the Pine K closes December 19, 2025. All participants receive a race-branded stocking cap and a Christmas ornament. Shirts and finisher medals are only guaranteed for registrants who sign up by December 1st, 2025. A portion of race proceeds and donations will be given to Helping Hand in Indianola, which provides food, clothing, household items, personal care products, and other basic needs.
