Ogden Newspapers WVU Medicine Wellness Weekend
Ogden Newspapers WVU Medicine Wellness Weekend is a multi-event running and community day in Wheeling, West Virginia. The program includes a half marathon run and walk plus shorter distances and family activities. The half marathon is the 48th annual edition and the course has notable changes in elevation. Open division prizes are offered for male and female finishers in the half marathon run and walk. Each finisher of the half marathon will receive an official race medal at the finish.
The event provides on-course and post-race amenities for participants, including race towels, bottled water, fresh fruit, and one food voucher. Pre-registered participants are guaranteed a shirt. Packet pickup is located at WesBanco Arena lobby, 2 14th St, Wheeling, WV 26003, with pickup available on Friday, May 22 and Saturday, May 23.

The Wellness Weekend Pet Walk, called Rovers on the River, follows the Heritage Trail waterfront near WesBanco Arena and the walking bridge over Wheeling Creek. It is a non-competitive pet friendly walk with on-course obstacles behind Main Street Bank. Pet rules include current vaccinations, leashes only (no retractable leashes), and cleanup with provided bags. A $25 pet registration includes a pet medal, bandanna, bags, tennis balls, and treats provided by Bully Max. Donations to the Belmont County Animal Shelter are encouraged.
