Tough as Nails Urban Challenge
The Tough as Nails Urban Challenge presented by The Health Plan is an obstacle course event in downtown Wheeling, West Virginia on May 24, 2026. The course features more than 20 obstacles and covers roughly six miles of urban terrain. Participants move through abandoned cars, scale flood walls, climb over constructed obstacles and ascend steep inclines as part of the route.
The event is open to people aged 16 and older. Starts are organized in timed waves spaced every 15 minutes, with a limit on the number of participants per wave. There are no competitive prizes listed; finishing provides a medal, a wicking event shirt and a drink ticket. After the course, an on-site gathering includes food, drinks and live music.
Packet pickup is handled at the WesBanco Arena lobby in Wheeling on the days before and the morning of the event. Parking is available at the Intermodal Center Parking Garage near WesBanco Arena.
