Dark Sky 220, Cherry Springs 110 and Wooly 50K, Lock Haven PA
The Warrior Trail Foundation organizes three trail running events centered on Lock Haven and the surrounding Pennsylvania trail system. The events operate from an operations base in Woolrich, PA, which provides space for crews and overnight rest.
Distances offered include:
- 220 miles with over 40,000 feet of elevation gain.
- 110 miles with nearly 20,000 feet of elevation gain.
- 50K race, suggested fundraising $100.
Course details are available as a GPX file on Caltopo. The courses run through forested terrain with plentiful water sources noted along the routes. Actual start and finish locations may change based on permit requirements.
Participants can choose supported, self-supported, unsupported, or team formats. Supported entries allow crew access at designated points. Self-supported runners may cache supplies. Unsupported runners carry all supplies from the start.
Virtual options exist for all distances and can be completed anytime by year end. An Arizona campaign is a special virtual edition following a public semblance of the Cocodona 250 course in reverse, offered as an unsupported adventure without cutoffs, aid stations, course marking, or formal support; it requires a $1000 fundraising minimum and has limited participation.
Registration is handled as a donation of $22 per person. A suggested fundraising commitment of $300 applies generally, with specific amounts noted for certain options. All proceeds go to the Warrior Trail Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3). Participants must register, complete required questions, and sign a waiver.
