About the race
The Fire on the Rocks 10K is a trail race held at Zindel Park in McElhattan, PA, organized by PA Trail Dogs. The advertised course measures about 6.6 miles and includes roughly 1400 feet of climbing. The route uses local trails that are also used for the Frozen Snot and Boulder Beast races.
The course moves through a sequence of named trails and landmarks, including Reservoir Road, Keller's Bench, Black Diamond, Change Up, Kammerdiner, Debbies Drop, Park Trail, Dug Road, Gorge Trail, Gut Check, Lightning Ridge, Final Cut, a service road and spillway bridge, the dam area, Creekside, and the Durty Dabbers trail down to the finish. Parking is provided at the Restless Oaks parking lot at 119 Pine Mountain Rd, McElhattan, PA 17748. Shuttle buses will transport participants to the start area, or participants may walk about a half mile up Reservoir Road.
Registration opens on December 16, 2026 at 7:00 PM ET. The event policy states there are no refunds, no bib transfers, no deferrals, and no bandits. Bib pickup is available on race morning.
