About the race
The WSTC Triathlon Series Race 6 takes place on the Altona Beach foreshore and follows the standard triathlon order: swim, bike and run. Swim courses start from the foreshore, the bike leg runs along the full length of the Esplanade and run courses follow the Altona foreshore path. The event offers multiple event types with minimum age requirements for juniors. Event registration and bib/timing chip collection are handled in the Western Suburbs Triathlon Club rooms, located next to the Altona Surf Life Saving Club near the corner of the Esplanade and Pier Street.
On-the-day entries are accepted with cash or card and require a completed waiver. Registration typically opens about one hour before each event to allow setup in transition. Race briefings are given shortly before each race with course details and safety information. Club members are required to volunteer at least once during the season; members may nominate a substitute to fulfill this duty.
Infrastructure work on the Altona foreshore may require course or start/finish adjustments; any changes will be communicated closer to the event. Event photos are uploaded to the club gallery, usually within 48 hours, and results are posted on the club site, often the afternoon of the event. Available event types and minimum ages: - Sprint: athletes 16 and over - Enticer: athletes 12 and over - Dash: athletes 10 and over; 10 and 11 year olds swim 200m. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
