WSTC Triathlon Series : Race 6, Altona Beach foreshore
The event is a triathlon held on the Altona Beach foreshore with swim, bike and run legs in that order. Run courses follow the Altona foreshore path and the bike leg traverses the full length of the Esplanade. The club offers varying event types and distances based on age and ability.
Registration and race administration take place in the Western Suburbs Triathlon Club rooms, in the same building as the Altona Surf Life Saving Club near the corner of the Esplanade and Pier Street. Registered athletes collect bibs and timing chips at the club. On-the-day entries are available; cash and card payments are accepted and a waiver must be completed and signed. Registration typically opens about one hour before each event to allow setup in transition.
Race briefings start about 15 minutes before the advertised event times. The Race Director outlines the course, any safety measures and changes due to conditions; athletes should be near the finish area for the briefing.
The club maintains an event gallery where photos are uploaded, usually within 48 hours, and posts event results on its website generally the afternoon of the event. Infrastructure works on the Altona foreshore may require course or start/finish adjustments; any changes will be communicated via the club's website and Facebook page.
