WSTC Triathlon Series Race 4 : Altona Beach foreshore
Race 4 of the WSTC Triathlon Series is held on the Altona Beach foreshore. The triathlon follows the sequence Swim, Bike, Run. Run courses use the Altona foreshore path and the bike leg runs along the full length of the Esplanade. The club uses the building shared with the Altona Surf Life Saving Club for registration and event operations.
Event formats and distances:
- Sprint: 750 m swim / 18.75 km bike / 5 km run
- Enticer: 400 m swim / 12.5 km bike / 3 km run
- Dash: 300 m swim (200 m for 10–11 year olds) / 6.25 km bike / 2 km run
- Sprint Aquabike: 750 m swim / 18.75 km bike
- Enticer Aquabike: 400 m swim / 12.5 km bike
- Sprint Aquathon: 750 m swim / 5 km run
- Enticer Aquathon: 400 m swim / 3 km run
- WSTC Olympic Distance: 1.5 km swim / 36 km bike / 10 km run
Minimum ages are specified per event: Dash 10+, Enticer 12+, Sprint 14+ (note an alternative minimum of 16 is also listed for Sprint; entrants should consult the event details). Registration is processed in the club rooms with both pre-registered and on-the-day entries accepted; cash and card payments are available and a waiver must be completed. Race briefings typically start 15 minutes before the advertised commencement and will cover course details and safety information. Club members are required to volunteer at least once during the season; a substitute may fulfill this obligation. Infrastructure work on the foreshore may result in course or start/finish changes that will be communicated before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
