About the race
The WSTC Triathlon Series Race 3 is held on the Altona Beach foreshore and is organized by the Western Suburbs Triathlon Club from the club rooms adjacent to the Altona Surf Life Saving Club near the corner of the Esplanade and Pier Street. The event follows the standard triathlon order: swim, bike, then run. Run courses follow the Altona foreshore path and the bike leg traverses the full length of the Esplanade. Multiple race formats are offered with age minimums for each distance: - Sprint: 750m swim / 18.75km bike / 5km run - Enticer: 400m swim / 12.5km bike / 3km run - Dash: 300m swim / 6.25km bike / 2km run (10–11 year olds swim 200m) - Sprint Aquabike: 750m swim / 18.75km bike - Enticer Aquabike: 400m swim / 12.5km bike - Sprint Aquathon: 750m swim / 5km run - Enticer Aquathon: 400m swim / 3km run Entry fees vary by membership category and age group, with separate rates for WSTC members, Triathlon Australia members, and non-TA competitors.
Registration and collection of bibs and timing chips are done in the club rooms; on-the-day entries are accepted with cash or card and a signed waiver. Race briefings are given shortly before each event. The club maintains online galleries of race photos and publishes results on the event page, typically the same afternoon.
Infrastructure work on the foreshore may require course or start/finish adjustments, which will be communicated before the event. Volunteers from club members are required to assist at least once during the season; substitutes are permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
