About the race
The WSTC Triathlon Series Race 2 is held on the Altona Beach foreshore and follows the triathlon order of Swim, Bike and Run. Swim, bike and run courses use foreshore and Esplanade routes: run laps along the Altona foreshore path and the bike leg traverses the full length of the Esplanade. Transition and registration are located in the Western Suburbs Triathlon Club rooms in the same building as the Altona Surf Life Saving Club.
Available event formats and distances:
- Sprint: 750 m / 18.75 km / 5 km
- Enticer: 400 m / 12.5 km / 3 km
- Dash: 300 m / 6.25 km / 2 km (10–11 year olds swim 200 m)
- Sprint Aquabike: 750 m / 18.75 km
- Enticer Aquabike: 400 m / 12.5 km
- Sprint Aquathon: 750 m / 5 km
- Enticer Aquathon: 400 m / 3 km
Each event has minimum age requirements (examples: Sprint 14 or 16 referenced in separate sections; Enticer 12; Dash 10). Registration is in the club rooms for pre-registered and on-the-day entries; on-the-day payment by cash or card is accepted and a waiver must be completed. Club members are required to volunteer at least once during the season; a substitute may fulfill this duty. Course or start/finish arrangements may change if foreshore works affect the venue. Event photos are uploaded to a public gallery after races and results are posted on the club site generally the afternoon of the event.
