WSTC Triathlon Series Race 1 : Altona Beach
Race 1 of the WSTC Triathlon series takes place on the Altona Beach foreshore. Each event follows the order swim, bike and run. Run courses use the Altona foreshore path and the bike leg travels the full length of the Esplanade. The club is based in the same building as the Altona Surf Life Saving Club near the corner of the Esplanade and Pier Street.
Available event types and distances:
- Sprint - 750m swim, 18.75km bike, 5km run. Minimum age 16.
- Enticer - 400m swim, 12.5km bike, 3km run. Minimum age 12.
- Dash - 300m swim, 6.25km bike, 2km run. Minimum age 10; 10–11 year olds swim 200m.
- Sprint Aquabike - 750m swim, 18.75km bike. Minimum age 14.
- Enticer Aquabike - 400m swim, 12.5km bike. Minimum age 12.
- Sprint Aquathon - 750m swim, 5km run. Minimum age 14.
- Enticer Aquathon - 400m swim, 3km run. Minimum age 12.
Registration and race day details are managed in the club rooms. On-the-day entries are accepted with cash or card and require a completed waiver. Club members are expected to volunteer at least once during the season; a substitute may fulfil this duty. Course or lap changes are possible due to foreshore works and will be communicated before the event. Event photos are typically uploaded within 48 hours and results are usually published the afternoon of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
