WSTC Duathlon Series : Race 4, Altona Beach foreshore
This duathlon comprises three legs in order: run, bike and run. Run courses follow the Altona foreshore path and the bike leg traverses the full length of the Esplanade. The event offers multiple distance options with minimum age requirements for each distance.
Distances offered:
- Sprint: 5 km / 18 km / 5 km
- Enticer: 3 km / 12 km / 3 km
- Dash: 2 km / 6 km / 2 km
Minimum ages:
- Sprint participants must be 16 years or older.
- Enticer participants must be 14 years or older.
- Dash participants must be 12 years or older. Some distance categories list specific age cutoffs for earlier seasons; entrants should check applicable age rules for juniors.
Location and logistics: The club is based in the same building as the Altona Surf Life Saving Club near the corner of the Esplanade and Pier Street. Registration and bib/timing chip collection take place in the club rooms. On-the-day entries are accepted with cash or card and require a signed waiver. Registration generally opens about one hour before the event to allow time to set up in transition.
Additional notes: Event results are published to the club website after the race, and photos are uploaded to an event gallery, typically within 48 hours. Infrastructure works on the foreshore may require course or start/finish changes which will be communicated closer to the event. Club members have a season volunteer requirement and may nominate substitutes to fulfil that duty. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
