About the race
The 2027 Wrexham Half Marathon is a new, road closed Half Marathon provisionally scheduled for 28 February 2027 in Wrexham. The race starts and finishes at Queensway Athletics Stadium within the Queensway Sports Complex (postcode LL13 8UH) and the route passes through the surrounding Welsh countryside. The venue is within easy walking distance of the city centre.
The event is organised by Active Leisure Events Ltd, the team behind the Chester 10K, Half and Marathon. Before race day participants receive support and advice including free training runs based in Chester, a personalised race pack with race number and timing chip posted to UK entrants, and access to social channels and sponsor offers. Runners from outside the UK must collect their race numbers from the Help Desk on race weekend.
On race day entrants are offered a complimentary technical T-shirt, bespoke medal and a post race goody bag, or the option to enter as a Green Runner so the cost of these items is donated to the event charity. The race provides on course hydration and nutrition, medical support, a runners Help Desk, free official race photos and live tracking for supporters. Prizes are awarded to the top three men and women and to each age group winner.
