Event overview
The Worcester Firefighters 6K is scheduled for Sunday, June 7, 2026. It is the 25th annual running of the event and was created as a living memorial to the firefighters who died in the Worcester Cold Storage Fire on December 3, 1999. The event also honors other department members who have died in the line of duty since 1999. The event takes place at Institute Park, 141 Salisbury St, Worcester, MA 01609.

The 6K and 3K walk are chip-timed. The course is a loop: the 3K walk completes one loop and the 6K participants complete two loops. The Kids 1K is an out-and-back that starts and finishes at the 6K/3K start line. The event features a BBQ inside Institute Park and a block party atmosphere.
Online registration opens January 21, 2026 and closes at 7:00 pm on Saturday, June 6, 2026. Online entry fees for the 6K and 3K vary by date; the Kids 1K fee is $20. Walk-up registration is available on race weekend at higher fees. There are no refunds and no pets are allowed. Participants using a stroller are asked to start at the back for safety.
