First Day 5K
The First Day 5K is a USATF certified, flat 5K run/walk in Whitinsville, Massachusetts, held on closed roads. The race field is capped at 300 runners. Online registration opens September 28, 2026 and closes December 31, 2026 at 12:00 pm. Early bib pickup and registration are available at the Gray Barn on New Year's Eve from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. The registration fee is $30.00.
The course begins with a downhill running start on Main Street just west of the Whitin Community Center at Grove Street. Runners proceed through Memorial Square onto Linwood Avenue, enter the Northbridge High School parking lot briefly, continue on Linwood Avenue to the turnaround at the Linwood Mill near the New China Pacific restaurant, and return to the finish at Memorial Square on Linwood Avenue.
Registration includes a custom hat for the first 225 registered participants and, after the race, pizza and a beer ticket at the Gray Barn. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
