First Day 5K - Northbridge
The event is scheduled for February 1, 2026 in Whitinsville, MA at the Gray Barn. The race field is capped at 300 participants. The event features a single road race distance of 5K on closed roads.
The course is USATF certified and described as flat. The route begins with a downhill running start on Main Street just west of the Whitin Community Center at Grove Street, proceeds through Memorial Square onto Linwood Avenue, passes briefly through the Northbridge High School parking lot, continues on Linwood Avenue to a turnaround at the Linwood Mill (New China Pacific restaurant), then returns to finish at Memorial Square on Linwood Avenue.
Registration information notes a custom hat for the first 225 registrants, hot chocolate and pizza after the race, and a beer at the Gray Barn following the race; proper identification is required for alcoholic beverages. Online registration is stated to close at 12:00 pm on December 30, 2025.
Entry fees listed include an early-registration price of $30 through November 29 and a later price of $35 from November 30 until race day. The event indicates free entry for participants over 70 and a no-refunds policy.
Awards are duplicated for male and female categories. Prizes include top 3 overall and top 3 in age groups (14 & under; 15–19; 20–29; 30–39; 40–49; 50–59; 60–69; 70–79; 80 & over). All awards are based on gun time, and a $100 cash award is offered for new course records; current course mark times to beat are 15:31 (male) and 17:04 (female).
