Woods Park Twilight Runs - 4th Annual
Woods Park Twilight Runs is scheduled for October 24, 2026 in Lincoln, NE at Woods Park. The date is subject to change based on the yet to be announced 2026 Nebraska Football schedule.
The event is community centered and features multiple laps of the same loop run cross country style on grass at Woods Park. The format is intended to allow friends and family to spectate from nearby areas while runners complete repeated circuits of the course.
Distances
- Wild Things - 1 mile for ages 12 and under
- 5K - all ages on a multi loop grass course
The 5K is a single race for all paces on a mostly flat, multi loop course with some terrain variation. Runners may be lapped during the event and participants are asked to stay to the right except to pass.
Early registration guarantees race gloves and a koozie for some entries; later registrants may receive gloves but this is not guaranteed. Packet pickup is available on race day at the shelter near the playground. Awards are to be determined.
Parking is available in nearby lots and on-street areas around Woods Park; attendees are asked to avoid the neighborhood west of the park when possible. Korner Kitchen and ChiStyle food trucks are expected after the run. Organizers hope to support the Lincoln Food Bank with donations. The event will be cancelled only for inclement severe weather such as lightning and there are no refunds for weather cancellations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
