Woodhorn Museum Triathlon Weekend 2026
The event takes place at Woodhorn Museum and QE2 Country Park in Ashington, England. It is a multi-discipline weekend featuring open water swims, junior aquathlon races, aquathlon and aquabike options, and sprint and standard triathlon distances. VO2 Max Events is listed as the organiser.
Open water swim challenge distances:
- 750m
- 1.5km
- 3km
Junior aquathlon categories and distances:
- Tristar Start (age 8): 100m swim / 600m run
- Tristar 1 (ages 9-10): 200m swim / 1.2km run
- Tristar 2 (ages 11-12): 300m swim / 1.8km run
- Tristar 3 (ages 13-14): 400m swim / 2.4km run
Main event distances:
- Sprint Triathlon: 750m swim / 24km bike / 6.4km run
- Standard Triathlon: 1.5km swim / 46km bike / 9.6km run
- Sprint and Standard Aquabike and Aquathlon use the same swim and bike or run distances as above
Minimum age rules are specified for each event category, including age cutoffs on 31 December 2026 for junior and swim challenge entries. Non-BTF athletes entering junior and adult triathlon, aquabike and aquathlon events must purchase a British Triathlon Race Pass; open water swim challenge competitors on Saturday do not require a BTF licence.
