Woodford Track Challenge
The Woodford Track Challenge takes place at Woodford County High School Outdoor Track in Versailles, Kentucky on August 14, 2026. The event supports the Woodford County Track Club and proceeds benefit track and field programs in local public schools.
The program includes a chip timed 5K on paved and track surfaces, an untimed 1 mile fun run/walk, and a virtual 3.1 mile option completed remotely. Participants receive commemorative unisex shirts while supplies last and free race photos are provided. Packet pickup is available at the high school on race evening. The 5K course runs on paved surfaces through the school complex and along the Falling Springs Bypass.
Awards for the 5K include trophies for the top three male and female overall finishers and ribbons for the top three in 5-year age divisions. Age groups begin at 0-9 and continue in 5-year increments through 75 and older. Entry fees vary by event and registration period with early and late rates for in-person events and a flat fee for the virtual option.
A Stick Horse Race for children ages 10 and under is held the same evening; each child receives a stick horse to keep. A parents stick horse race is also offered. The Stick Horse Race requires a separate on site sign up and a small participation fee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
