Wooden Shoe 5K
The Wooden Shoe 5K is a sports event held in the town of Clymer, New York. The event features a course designed for both runners and walkers, alongside a specific activity for children. The following distances are available:
- 5K run
- 5K walk
- Kiddie Dash
The route begins on Mohawk Street and takes participants on a loop around Clymer Pond. The path involves several turns, including a right onto Knowlton and another right onto Clymer-Corry Road to navigate the area surrounding the pond. In the center of town, the course turns left onto Route 474, heading west toward Heil Transportation. After ascending a small hill and crossing Route 474, participants return toward the town center. The final segment follows Clymer-Sherman Road to Maple Avenue, leading back to the school where the race concludes.
Awards are presented for the 5K run to the top two overall finishers, as well as the top male and female participants in each age category. For the 5K walk, awards are reserved for the top two male and female finishers. The event also includes door prizes.
