Women's Run & Raffle
Rachel Carson Trails Conservancy is hosting the 3rd Annual Women's Run & Raffle on May 17, 2026 in Gibsonia, PA. The event is free and serves as a training opportunity tied to the Baker Trail UltraChallenge 50 mile event later in the season. It is open to women runners regardless of experience.
The course is a 4 mile loop that includes significant climbing and is mostly shaded with very little exposed sun. The loop begins and ends at Olympia Shelter in North Park near Pearce Mill Road. Participants may run a single loop or participate for the six hour endurance period. Basic facilities are available on site, including bathrooms, plentiful parking, water, and some snacks. Dogs are asked to remain at home.
The event will include food and raffles. Prizes include a few entries to the Baker Trail UltraChallenge 50 mile race scheduled for August 29. The Women's Run & Raffle is connected to broader equity efforts: the organizer adopted guidelines that allocate 50 percent of Baker Ultra entries to women, a change from a historical average of about 80 percent men and 20 percent women in that race. The run is presented as a relaxed and supportive opportunity for women runners and a way to introduce more women to the longer ultramarathon event.
