Event Overview
The Women's Run & Raffle is a free event organized by the Rachel Carson Trails Conservancy in partnership with Public Lands of Cranberry. It is designed as a kick-off for training for the Baker Trail UltraChallenge 50-miler in late August, but participation is open to all women runners.
Course Details
The run takes place on a 4-mile loop starting and finishing at the Olympia Shelter in North Park, Gibsonia, Pennsylvania. The course features plenty of climbing and is mostly shaded, with very little exposed sun. The event format is flexible; participants can run one loop or continue for the full 6-hour duration.
Event Amenities
Plenty of parking and bathrooms are available. Water and some snacks will be provided on hand.
Raffle and Giveaways
Public Lands will have giveaways, food, and raffles. The Rachel Carson Trails Conservancy will be raffling off several free entries to the Baker Trail UltraChallenge 50-miler.
Event Purpose
The event was created to introduce more women to the Baker Trail UltraChallenge and to provide a relaxed, fun, and supportive running opportunity. The Baker Ultra is noted as the only 50-mile race in the United States that allocates 50% of its race entries to women. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
