Wold Rangers Way Ultra
The Wold Rangers Way Ultra is a circular trail event of 52 km through the Yorkshire Wolds, starting and finishing at Field House Camping & Coffee Barn near Tibthorpe. The route follows much of the Wold Rangers Way and passes through villages such as Huggate, Fridaythorpe, Thixendale, Fimber and Wetwang. Total climb on the course is listed as 2,900 ft.
Entries are limited to 200 runners and the event is organised with on-course support. There are four indoor checkpoints with toilets and menstrual products, and checkpoint food and drink is vegan friendly and gluten free. A drop bag option is available at checkpoint 3. The route is clearly waymarked with yellow tape and large yellow correx signs and a GPX file is provided for navigation. Live GPS tracking is included with entry.
Facilities at the venue include free on-site parking, indoor cycle parking and food and drink available from the Coffee Barn. Finish options include an eco-wooden medal or a wildflower seed medal, or the choice to plant trees instead of taking a medal. There is a 12 hour cut-off for the full course. Minimum age for participants is 20. Dogs are not permitted on the course. A portion of each entry fee is donated to local charities including the Wold Rangers Way Charity and other community causes.
