Event overview

The Wold Rangers Way Ultra is a 50 km circular trail event on Saturday 25 April 2026. The route starts and finishes at Field House Camping & Coffee Barn, Field House Farm, Tibthorpe, Driffield, YO25 9JZ. The event follows much of the Wold Rangers Way and passes through dry valleys and the villages of Huggate, Fridaythorpe, Thixendale, Fimber and Wetwang. The minimum age to enter is 20 years. The event is currently full; new entries are placed on a waiting list and no payment is required while waiting. Entry fees listed are £47 affiliated, £49 non-affiliated, with an optional technical tee for £14. Four pounds from each entry fee is allocated to local charities.

Course, support and facilities

The event uses Premium OpenTracking GPS tracking with live timing and splits and provides a GPX file. The route is available in OS via the OpenTracking website and key junctions are marked with yellow tape and large yellow correx signs. Support includes first aid, four indoor checkpoints with toilets, vegan friendly and gluten free nutrition, a main checkpoint offering tea and coffee, and an option to leave a non-returnable food drop bag at the main checkpoint. Facilities include free parking, indoor cycle parking, toilet facilities at the start and finish, and discounted camping. Finishers receive a choice of an eco-wooden medal or wildflower seed medal, or can opt for tree planting instead. Free event photography and refreshments are provided at the finish.
