Wold Rangers Way Ultra
The Wold Rangers Way Ultra is a 50 km circular trail event that starts and finishes at the eco friendly Field House Camping & Coffee Barn near Tibthorpe. The route largely follows the Wold Rangers Way and passes through dry valleys and the villages of Huggate, Fridaythorpe, Thixendale, Fimber and Wetwang. Total climb on the course is about 2,900 ft. There are four checkpoints on route, each with toilets; checkpoint 3 also offers drop-bag access, tea and coffee, and phone charging. The overall event cut-off is 12 hours and there are no individual checkpoint cut-off times.
Entry includes a GPX file, route marking at key junctions, and live tracking via Open Tracking. Parking at the venue is free and indoor cycle parking is available. Finishers may choose an eco-wooden medal, a wildflower seed medal, or opt to have trees planted instead; £4 from each entry fee supports local charities, split across route maintenance, community projects and food poverty initiatives. Mandatory kit requirements apply and the minimum entry age is 20. Dogs are not permitted on the course. Tea, coffee and cake are provided at the finish and event photography will be available to download after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
